Dan Simoneau is an accomplished, award-winning, and published acrylic and watercolor painter. He specializes primarily in male figurative and maritime art.

Atmosphere and the effect of light on objects or persons inspires him.  As a result, his focus is light as it plays on the subject. As a contemporary realist, he aims to capture the essence of his subjects as truthfully as possible. He usually paints in a somewhat loose manner with larger brushes while still achieving a very realistic effect.

Dan exhibits, competes, and has won many awards nationally and internationally.  As a result, he holds Signature Master, Signature, or Fellow status in many national and international art societies. His paintings are in private collections in the United States and abroad.  Dan was inducted into Who’s Who in American Art in 2005. 

Dan studied fine arts at the University of Southern Maine, graduating Magna Cum Laude with majors in painting, printmaking and pottery and a minor in art history.
